Robert S. Hoye CRPh., FIACP, FACA
Robert S. Hoye and his highly trained staff have been providing their unique compounding and nutrition services to the Tampa community since 1990. As President, Operator and Lead Pharmacist of Hoye’s Pharmacy, Robert has developed a full line of services, products and experienced staff to meet the ever changing demands and technologies in the field of sterile and non-sterile compounding. His expertise has been called upon by the national and local media to discuss and explain the many facets of sterile and non-sterile compounding.
Before founding Hoye’s Pharmacy, Robert gained invaluable technical, management and business experience in positions such as:
- Chief Pharmacist at Walgreen’s Drug Store in Marco Island, Florida
- Pharmacist/Store Manager at Revco Discount Drug in Tampa, Florida
- Pharmacist/Department Manager at Rite Aid Drugs in Tampa, Florida
While at the University of St. Louis, Robert received Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology (1982) and Pharmacy (1985). To further his education, he attended the International College of Homeopathy, where he received his Diplomate in Homeopathic studies in 1997.
Currently, Robert holds the following licenses and title:
- Registered Pharmacist (since 1986)
- Consultant Pharmacist (since 1994)
- Diplomate for the National Board of Homeopathic Examiners (since 1996).
Throughout his career, Robert has actively served the pharmaceutical community by participating in numerous local, state and national professional organizations. His personal commitment and satisfaction towards becoming involved in the community has resulted in his position as Treasurer for the National Board of Homeopathic Examiners for the last ten years. Also of note, is his board membership at the Florida Pharmacy Association, Region Rep 11 for the same tenure. Since 1992, Robert has been a Fellow in the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists. These are just a few of his associations and affiliations within the field.
In addition to being involved in multiple organizations, Robert has continued his professional development through numerous research studies for the Mayo clinic and University of South Florida and has published three journal articles to date.
As a special honor and recognition, Robert received the Innovative Pharmacy Practice of the Year Award in 1996, awarded by DuPont Pharma.
Robert makes regular local appearances on the Cathy Fountain Show, Here’s to Your Health radio show, and various television and radio programs throughout the region. He has also appeared on ABC’s World News Tonight with Peter Jennings as an expert in the field of compounding.
